This two-part performance features music from two
of our recent Artist Development projects. September
2004's ïNew Music/New Media' course, led by
David Horne and Sound Intermedia, brought together
young composers and performers with members of the
London Sinfonietta and video artists Flat-e. Together
they explored electronic composition techniques,
improvisation and use of visuals, creating electroacoustic
works accompanied by compelling digital video.
An Aldeburgh Residency in early 2005 brought
together Suffolk-resident Warp Records DJ Mira Calix
with pianist Sarah Nicolls and sound designer
David Sheppard. Their collaborative work is a
fascinating union of contemporary piano techniques,
sampled sounds and live-electronic manipulation. |
